crossoverficHighlander / Stargate: Atlantis crossover plot bunny / challenge:
Background:
Immortals were created by the Ancients to fight the Wraith; for whatever reason the Ancients "seeded" earth with immortals (maybe the Pegasus galaxy , too, but they are either not as common or maybe the Replicators wiped them out if they thought immortals were a threat to their existance? or even wiped out my the Wraith if they could somehow predict/detect immortals and/or pre-immortals?)
Immortality was never meant to be permanent; the Ancients have a machine (somewhere in the Pegasus glaxay, if not directly in Atlantis) to revert an immortal back to mortal (age normally, have children, etc) - this was to be used after the Wraith were defeated. This is The Prize that the Ancients promised/intended to give Immortals once the Wraith were eliminated
The Game developed on Earth because Immortals have a drive to kill Wraith (i.e. non-humans), and without any Wraith present, it somehow turned into the idea of killing each other
The Ancient(s) who created the Immortals knew about the creation of the Replicators and how they eventually turned on their creators, so that is why Immortals can be killed by decapitation (it's a built-in failsafe)
Characters I'd like to see in the crossover: from Highlander: Ritchie Ryan (I hated that he was killed off!), perhaps as a marine on the Atlantis expedition; either Cassandra or Methos as a civilian linguist on the Atlantis expedtion (or even starting on earth, somehow researching the origin of the Immortals and finding references to Atlantis, etc. and then coming to the attention of the Stargate program)
From Stargate : mini-Jack (his character was so shafted...), any member of any iteration of SG-1; and Major Lorne (his dimples never got enough screen time) as well as team Sheppard

I think it has to be one of the older Immortals, because of the reaction upon finding out that Immortals are basically an Ancient science experiment. You'd think after putting so much thought into this that I could actually write it, but no...
