Strange idea, I know.
I've been thinking: suppose you introduced Data from ST:TNG to the "I, Robot" version of Earth, say, shortly after the film takes place. How would Spooner, Calvin, Sonny, and the people of that Earth react to a humanoid artificial life-form who has his own legal standing as a person and not a machine and is used to being treated as a full equal by everybody, not as a household object/servant/etc. Oh, and how would they react to seeing an artificial life-form who looks the way Data does?
I'd write it myself, only I'm a) too busy, b) too poor to buy all of the ST:TNG seasons, and c) it would take me years to do a halfway decent job of it.
Anybody fancy giving it a shot? I'm not expecting anything, just throwing it out there to get it out of my head.
