Summary: It's just another ordinary night in Fool's Paradise for CSI Nick Stokes, until he meets a woman who changes his life.
A/N: I'm taking a bit of poetic licence here. This episode (lol) takes place nearly two years after the death of Warrick Brown and I chose to portray Nick in this way for reasons which will become clearer. I love Nick Stokes - he's a great character, and I don't mean to denigrate him, or the actor who portrays him in any way. I wanted to examine what happens when someone chooses not to deal with grief. It was also a great opportunity for me to send my Pretender on a new adventure. So enjoy.
A/N 2: The title is from a song by The Who - since it's their song on the CSI theme I thought it would be nice. And it reflects what happens to the characters.
