Duplicitous Interludes: Mourning Becomes, 2 of 2
Authors:
vikingprincess and
blndswdnsmn
Fandoms: BtVS/Xmen
Characters: Rogue/Gambit, mention of Faith
Ratings/Warnings: Adult for graphic sexual description. Also, Kleenex warning.
Disclaimers: Not ours!
A/N: These Interludes follow our BtVS/Xmen crossover Victorian story Duplicity, wherein Holmesian investigator Angel and his apprentice Xander were hired by Miss Cordelia Chase and her bluestocking companion Willow Rosenberg to investigate the dastardly kidnapping of Cordelia's dearest friend Rogue, at a time when women were being surgically carved and their bodies found with parts missing. While Rogue's kidnapper had taken her for other reasons, all five, as well as the kidnapper himself, a confirmed rake and gambler named Remy LeBeau, joined forces against a greater evil than they could possibly have imagined. Alas, there were decidedly not happy endings for all. Herein follows some of that which occurred afterwards.
Earlier Interludes:
Connubial Bliss (Willow/Xander, Mature Adult)
The Fall of the House of Levinson, 1 of 2 (Cordelia/Angel, Mature Adult)
The Fall of the House of Levinson, 2 of 2
Mourning Becomes, 1 of 2 (Rogue/Gambit, Faith, Teen)
Previously:
"Time t' go," Rogue whispered hoarsely, wondering if this time she would leave her heart behind entirely. It was in so many pieces already, losing another might be the end of it completely.
"What? Go? Go where?" Faith looked at Marie with a new respect and no little fear. "What did you do, drug his tea?"
Rogue shook her head. "No, darlin'. He didn't drink any. And we're goin' away from him, right now. Pack up. Everythin's ready 'cept us. Move quick-like, now."
"He's not... is he dead?" The brown eyes were wide and shocked at the apparent, and utterly unexpected, ruthlessness of her boss.
"No, sugah. Just dreamin' a while." Ah hope. "Shake y' tail, gal; ain't no time to waste!" Rogue swept past Faith and into their tiny apartments, and began to clear away any sign that they had ever even been there.
