crossoverfic | {WIP} West Wing/Stargate SG-1: "letters" Part 1/?

Notes: I've had trouble coming back to this story even though I did finally resolve what to do about couplings (something that had me stuck on a scene for quite a few months), so I'm hoping that by posting this somewhere I might inspire myself to get moving again. Mostly this is a West Wing-based story although Stargate SG-1 definately plays an increasingly significant role as story continues. What I want from this story is a well-integrated crossover since mostly this was based in expirimentation. Being me, of course there's slash; the "old" pairing was Sam/Daniel. In Daniel's letters he mentions his marriage to Sha'uri and also hints at feelings for Jack (probably I'll eventually get to Jack/Daniel). Sam and Josh do get to develop a relationship, lucky dogs. =P~ Anyway, I think that's all I need to say... C&C appreciated, thanks!

(I have six parts at least semi-completed; I'm going to be posting about one part per day in hopes of inspiring myself to finish this thing)

Summary: Sam reconnects with an old friend, explores his relationships along the way, and the senior staff is let in on the national secret that is The Stargate Program.

Disclaimers: Familiar characters belong to the creators of The West Wing or Stargate SG-1. I know I can’t claim ‘em, but I can claim this story =P There are some sections where dialogue is lifted directly from episodes; these sections are from Stargate SG-1’s “Revelations” (season five) and “Full Circle” (season six), and The West Wing’s “The Portland Trip” (season two).

Spoilers: Set late season 5 for Stargate (and after) and during season 2 for West Wing; yes, the timelines had to be manipulated so that things fit together. Set in 2000/2001. Also note that the time between events in West Wing gets a little sketchy.
