Where there is light, there will always exist a shadow... even in the purest of hearts. Ansem the Wise - once the ruler of a great and prosperous kingdom, Dartian - firmly believed in its power. Experiments began to test the effects of darkness and its ability to consume the heart completely, but before long he realized that he had underestimated darkness all along, and soon after the tests were put to an end. However, his assistant Xehanort refused to let rest their progress. He wanted better test subjects, people who seemed so innocent that the light in their hearts could overcome the shadows.

His attention turned to a neighboring kingdom, Centinon, a land dependant on magic and created by sheer force of will, ruled by a young woman known to her subjects as The Pillar. This Pillar, Princess Emeraude, was completely pure in mind, body and soul. Similarly, because their ruler was so kind and gentle, the people of Centinon lived each day to the fullest. They were the perfect target.

Xehanort overthrew Ansem the Wise as king of Dartian and assumed his name. He mobilized the armies and ordered a full-scale attack on Centinon, with whom Dartian was previously on good terms. Within days the kingdom had been conquered, and Xehanort (hereby known as Ansem) established a new rule under the Abonist party. This event became known as the War of Heaven Lost.

The Abonist party seized all citizens of Centinon with supernatural powers and studied them to make sure they weren't of any real danger. These people were put on a scale from one to six, with one being the lowest and six the highest. The two lowest ranks posed no immediate threat and were let go. The third is kept under 24-hour surveillance, while the fourth, fifth and sixth are kept in isolation in heavily guarded "cages." This later became known as the Tenbatsu Scale Project. Magic was completely banned soon after.

It came as no surprise that the high priest and priestess of the court - Clow Reed and Yuuko Ichihara - were sixes. They were separated and imprisoned immediately upon arrest. But they party made a crucial mistake in underestimating their power; both Clow Reed and Yuuko have the ability to transport themselves and other people through multiple dimensions. Knowing that Ansem now had tabs on every person in Centinon, Yuuko and Clow Reed began to call people from other worlds in the hopes that they might be able to save their kingdom. The first arrival of outsiders marked the beginning of The Trial of Heaven Reborn. Can these outsiders restore the kingdom to its former glory, or can not even Heaven shield itself from darkness?

LOST HEAVEN is a multi-fandom AU game. It features a wide array of plot elements and key places ranging from the most popular fandoms to the most obscure, but the prior knowledge of these fandoms is not required. In the game, players have the option of applying for a character that has been transported from their own world to this one, or of re-writing their character's history completely, as though they existed in that world all along.

Lost Heaven has been underway for about a month and a half now, and really, there's no catching up anyone has to do to get started in the game.

The main beauty of this RP is that you can write your character any way you like- as an AU version of themselves already within the world of Lost Heaven, or their canon selves. The freedom allotted is immense. You can write up a completely new history for your character (provided it is still within the Lost Heaven canon), or drop a canon character into this world and have them struggle to find their own paths, for good or evil.
