Summary: If you could fall into your favourite fandom, would you really want to? Do you really want to be the protagonist of every story, the centre of every plot, loved by heroes and coveted by villians? Do you really want to be a Mary Sue? Are you sure? Don't be so quick to say 'yes'...
Some background: While this is a series of Mary Sue fics (eek, run!) "Slipstream" is not a Mary Sue. This story was originally begun as an honours essay on self-representation on the internet, and, at the urging of my professor, turned instead into a story; an essay caught in the throes of prose. It does chronical the trials of a "real" person caught in fandom, so if that is not your bag, I urge you to read elsewhere. Otherwise, please enjoy the story!
