“Rose Tyler, just the out of place in time brit I was looking for.”
In my life I’ve seen a lot of unexplained things, aliens galore and doppelgangers of my lovers, so I was over prepared for this leather clad god stalking me in the middle of the night.
(my dark doctor still wants the taste of blood and would love to end him)
“I’m here to take you back home, love.”
Out popped that taunting hand of his, reminding me of when I grabbed on to the doctor’s and traveled across the cosmos, but the years have made my hope run dry and my heart grow cold.
(the human version, never better than the original, has turned away from this ice queen)
“And why would I ever believe that? Not even you can take me back, I’m forever lost to my world.”
“Such a melancholy view from a beautiful young woman, Rosie, it’s such a pity. Put that sadness aside because I can give it all back to you in a matter of seconds.”
It was clear that he enjoyed showing off a little too much, waving that magic stick around like a nut, but it also made my hope finally wake up for the first time in years because he might be my escape.
(and give me a chance to say those three little words back to him)
“Okay, I’m listening. But what do you want in exchange?”
When that wolf in sheep’s clothing grin spread over his face, one that I wish I hadn’t seen on my lover’s own lips (while pretending to be the doctor minus the moral part), I knew that this miracle trip home would come with a hefty price tag.
“Do you need to ask, darling? I need a distraction so I can get my hands on that wondrous tradis of his, and you are my ticket inside.”
All that wonderful tasting hope, which is replaced with despair this days as I watch him become less and less like the doctor, vanished when I realized I couldn’t go back.
(no villains with shit-eating grins could make me turn on the doctor)
“Kill me.”
It was refreshing to shock him instead of the other way around, these days not a lot could stun me (after the doctor prepared me for it all), and I gave him my own wolf grin as he tried to figure it all out.
(I had one foot ready to leave but my heart was still here wanting to go back home)
“And why would I want to do that, Rosie?”
“I would die before betraying my doctor, Loki. I doubt you’ve ever loved someone like that so you wouldn’t understand.”
It was clear that the word ‘no’ was screamed at him quite a lot, mostly by females that found his grin to be incredibly creepy instead of the charm he was going for, and he always acted negative to being told so.
“I could make you come with me, Rosie.”
That oh-so dangerous stick of his was pointed right at my heart, as I was telling myself how scared I should be, but his plan failed when the not doctor knocked him out cold.
(sadly I found the end welcoming, a different kind of escape)
“Don’t call her Rosie, you weird looking son of a bitch.”
I couldn’t help but shiver when I saw just how much he enjoyed the mindless violence, and it didn’t help that Loki wasn’t his first victim of the hour.
(the blood dried on his hands wasn’t all the tricksters)
“Thank you, darling, he was starting to get on my nerves.”
His wild eyes caught mine, yet again trying to win me over with that face (the one that reminds me of the version I should be hand and hand with), trying to see if I was going to leave him behind.
“If he wasn’t a fiend, would you have left me to go back to him, Rose?”
(as always I lied through my teeth so the blood on his fists wouldn’t be mine)
“Of course not, I have you and you’re all I need.”
