“Do you like my new shoes, Cas? I bewitched them so they are able send me home in the blink of an eye if danger strikes. Awesome, right?”
Watching her twirl around in her new shoes, which looked like sparklers and were nearly burning my eyes out (like the shoe version of an angel), only caused my confusion to grow deeper.
(confusion about human ways, witches, wizards, and how lovely I found this certain mortal)
“Why do human women like shoes so very much? In heaven we have no use for such material things.”
I pointed down at my also useless business shoes to prove my point, ones that I have yet to change in six years, hoping it would cause her to give up this obsession with the damn things.
“Who are you calling a human woman? I’m far from human, Cas, do you need to be reminded of that?”
With a smirk on her lips she tapped those sparkling shoes together, while I tried to push aside the desire to kiss her smirking lips (a big no-no in heaven) and disappeared before my eyes.
(before I met Miss. Granger, it was my job to disappear and reappear at inappropriate times)
“Hermione? Can you please come back now; I understand that you’re not a bit normal. Please?”
I felt the persistence of worry when ever Dean had been in trouble, at times wanting to lock him up to keep his many enemies away from my best friend, and now I worried that my witch was not coming back.
(not that Dean would be that sorrowful about the disappearance of any witch)
It wasn’t long before she popped back in, bringing some goodies for us to share (I’m still marveling at the sweets that she never runs out of), and I couldn’t stop myself from hugging her.
(with one eye on heaven to make sure no one was watching me)
“Stop worrying so much, Cas, I would never leave you.”
