I was recently reading a story, and forgot to bookmark it.  I only got halfway through, computer crashed, etc.,  and it's been driving me *batty* not knowing what happened.  It was a CSI/Buffy crossover called "Going Ballistic", where Xander takes a job as a ballistics expert for the Vegas CSI nightshift. I don't remember the author, but it was a nice long fic, and it was really well done.

I've been searching every Google string I can think of for *weeks*. I think it was on a website, and I'm under the impression that it was a female author, but that doesn't really narrow it down much, does it? :-)
