“You know this field is more for playing football and less for sleeping, honey, are you okay?”

I had expected a lot out of today, expected Tim to be an ass as always but then slowly become the teddy-bear I know he is when we’re alone and I expected to be my awesome self but one thing I did not expect was to find someone taking a nap on the football field.

(thank god it was me who found him snoozing and not couch, he still has a chance to live until tomorrow)

“What is a football field, woman?”

It was clear that he was homeless, the fact that he smelled like a trash bin and looked like he needed a few days in the bath helped that, but I wasn’t going to let any man homeless or not talk to me like that.

(Tim tried that last year and got my heel in the side of his face for the world to see)

“It’s exactly what it sounds like, a field where they play brain numbing football, and my name is Tyra, not woman.”

We were both eying one another like they were from a far off galaxy; I wouldn’t be surprised if this little weirdo really was from Mars, and instead of kicking him in the face I helped him up from his bed.

(praying that the guys were far away thinking about anything but football, but with those bone-heads it would be surprising if they were)

“Sorry, T-Tyra, I am not from this place and I am lost.”

Getting me to give a damn was a skill itself, Tim gave up on doing that ages ago, and I knew that I could not leave without helping the poor guy.

(this Texas queen does not have an ice heart after all)

“Come with me, sweetheart, you can get yourself clean, I insisted on that, and I’ll buy you the best burger in town, how about it?”

“I did not understand half of your words, Tyra, but they did sound rather good.”
