“My dear, drop that uncomely frown of yours and put a smile on that lovely face.”
Throughout my years very few of those sons of bitches that always ended up being dust thanks to my own hand had taken me by surprise but then again I hadn’t run into the Joker yet.
(and now I was face to face with that twisted face of his, forever in a wicked grin)
“I’m not about to give you the satisfaction, Jack, because I already know your planning on giving me a nice big one no matter what I do.”
Both eyes were locked on the knife dancing between his fingers; it was glimmering as it died to cut into my pink flesh, wondering when it would be my time to grin.
(as he whispered stories about horrible fathers and vain girlfriends)
“Don’t jump to conclusions, Buffy, killing you now would run all of the good fun we’re going to have. And why would I do that? I do so enjoy a good laugh.”
Since the start of our correspondence, one that I could have done so well without, I’ve gotten to hear that piercing laugh of his more then I’d ever like.
(each and every living thing on this planet could make his laugh come, I was just one of them)
“I can see that, Jack, but you should know I’m not the most amusing person in the world, you would have done so much better if you’d have taken Xander. Now that boy can make you laugh.”
Sadly for Xander most of time he brings out the giggle monsters in us all is when he’s not trying to, and when he does joke the room is filled with nothing but Spike saying something snarky.
“I was thinking of taking patchy-boy, but darling, I’m in the market for a villainess, and I hope by the end of the day you’ll be just that.”
I was finally laughing myself, not knowing his track record with making heroes into the villains of today, and I had no idea what was in store for me.
