Title: Giving Me Some New Hope
Author: rosie1234
Fandom: Heroes/Batman
Rating: PG
Word Count: 385
Ships: Elle/Bruce, Joker
Summary: “But you're just a little girl.”
For: crossover100
Prompt: 22. Enemies
Disclaimer: Not Mine.
“You're working with the Joker?”
Those eyes of his, of which Joker would love to poke out, looked at little old me like I was a puppy trying to be a lion.
But he had no idea just how deadly my bite was.
(just take a look at the many presents I left for my baby)
“That's why you trapped me in your awesomely lame bat cave, isn't it?”
Each second I sat here, wiggling my chained arms like I was singing a song, my Joker was getting angrier each moment we were apart.
“But you're just a little girl.”
I held bark the urge to let my power free, if that was done this whole town would be nice and crispy, but I knew that I wouldn't do any good.
All I would end up doing was giving myself a very nice shock and I already know how much that stings.
“I'm not a little girl, batsy, not even close.”
After days of that gruff voice, (is it me or does the bat sound like he smokes?), and a permanent place in the bat cave I was losing faith in my favorite clown to save me.
“He's coming, he wouldn't leave me.”
Unexpectedly when these words came out, over and over again, my 'enemy' did not help along my dying hope.
“I've gotten you a job at Bruce Wayne's building, I'll be watching to make sure that the Joker does not come for you. So I'm letting you free, please try and change if not for me then for yourself.”
Rather then planning my escape, only to fall back into a world of boredom and abusive lovers, I got ready to go along with this all hoping for something new.
And hoping Bruce Wayne is ready for this hurricane coming into his life.
“You've got yourself a deal, batsy, and next time just tell you like me and it would have been so much easier.”
(I finally get to check my cuckoo bird off my list and move on to a bat)
