[identity profile] wizefics.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] crossoverfic
Hello fellow crossover fans!

I am trying to find meta articles on what makes a "good" crossover. If anyone knows of any, I'd appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

Sadly, I have not seen any. I have ranted on the subject on occasion, but none were really written down (or I don't remember their locationb).

I'd been thinking of doing something involving proper Crossover Theory for some time now.

If I had time/wasn't such a lazy bum, I probably would.

I can think of a few criteria, but Majin Gojira Law #1 ("There is always an exception") keeps coming up.

I think crossovers are a huge ymmv thing, and even varies from fandom to fandom. I personally like to subscribe to the theory that anything can be crossed over with a proper amount of skill and effort to make the canon material fit together.

This essay (http://trolllogicfics.livejournal.com/31237.html) by Trolllogic sums things up fairly nicely.
