Summary: Just before the jump to Earth, the Fleet comes into contact with a small transport ship of non-Colonial origins. (AU after Revelations)
Spoilers: Up to and including Season 4.5 for BSG and the Big Damn Movie for Firefly. 
Author's Note: I wrote the original Out of the Black over a year ago, and looking back was not pleased with it at all, there was so much I wanted to do with the story that I just didn't pull off and so I decided to rewrite it, do more justice to both of the stories I wanted to tell. The original story is still archived at ootbverse and will remain there. If you have read the original, I welcome you to read this new version of the story as it does take a different direction from the original. Beta'd by taragel . How about Logic vs Insanity?

Logical Half human/Vulcan woman descendant of Alice Kingsley herself, of course it is set in 23rd century or the early days of the federation (Hence before Spock was born) Anyway the Kingsley House hold is about to be destroyed and since she is one of the last descendants. She has lost her bond mate to ponfarr and it has left her mentally scarred as a Vulcan, and she has strayed away toward towards V'tosh ka'tur" ("Vulcan without logic". She is shame from her family on Vulcan, and really the Human world does not care for her either. With her mother (vulcan) on Vulcan and her human father dead ( a kingsley) T'karra-Hath Kinsley decide it was illogical for destroy a treasure of her ancestry.
She is a black haired, blue eyed Vulcan ( a rarity) and looks remarkable like Alice Kingsley. She was out studying earth flora in the garden when she discovered the large rabbit hole, and T'karra payed it no mind and the hole enlarged and sucked her in. Any way I want to explore human nature (on the Tarrant ) human? (if he is) and Vulcan. Logic cool vulcan smacks in to insanity, moods and emotions. T'karra is untimely pitted in a world that is against every a Vulcan is trained from birth.

Tarrant sees this elfin creature as replica of Alice , at first he is sorely pitted against an cold emotionless creature. But he soon to see there is more to her and her Vulcan layers.

i see Tarrant as primal because he are a passionate insane person, but let see if he can tangle with Mind melds and a twist of Vulcan Ponfarr ( i realize this in is only in Vulcan Males, but Vulcan females if it is unresolved when their bond mates die)
