[personal profile] jedibuttercup posting in [community profile] crossoverfic
Greetings crossover fans,

I'm in the early stages of starting up a newsletter, called [livejournal.com profile] crossover_news, strictly for reporting crossover fiction (such as is posted at [livejournal.com profile] crossoverfic) and other crossover fan activities on Livejournal. I'd like to ask for your help in identifying crossover communities and individual writers to start off the reading list before I attempt to actually put it into action, and in fact for any advice anyone cares to give; I've never run a community like this before.

If the demand proves high enough once I get it going, I may need additional editors so it can be run it more than once a week, so keep that in mind. Thanks for your help!

Well, besides this community, another obvious one is [livejournal.com profile] crossovers100. And of course there's also [livejournal.com profile] multiverse2004 (ignore the year) which is an annual crossover ficathon.

Then there's [livejournal.com profile] crossing_lostrp which is a role-playing community where the scenario is that it's "Lost", but with various crossover characters there as well as the "Lost" characters.

There are various other fic communities and writers which aren't necessarily crossover-oriented, but where crossovers may turn up every now and then -- I'm not sure whether you're interested in those or not.

That's a great idea! :D

There's [livejournal.com profile] crossover_hp, focused on Harry Potter crossovers.

As for writers who post crossovers more or less regularly, I can think of [livejournal.com profile] aishuu (her writing journal is [livejournal.com profile] quillofferings), [livejournal.com profile] amewarashi (at [livejournal.com profile] kitsune_epics), [livejournal.com profile] elihice, and [livejournal.com profile] sam_storyteller. I post my own fics at [livejournal.com profile] fractal_mirrors, if you don't mind the shameless plug.

Just randomly going through crossover communities looking for some to post to/join and had to comment because its a great idea. Most of the crossover communities are terribly spread out. A general archiving site (in case you haven't stumbled across it): Twisting the Hellmouth (just google it) which has thousands of Buffy crossovers (might be a good place to advertise).

My journal will have any updates I do (which is probably a shameless plug but, just fyi), and I know [livejournal.com profile] mhalachaiswords updates several times a week, mostly Buffy/Anita Blake/ and HP crossovers...

I know! Once I actually looked at the user name I was like, "I know you, fellow TtH writer!". Who is *much* more prolific than me by the way. :) And please, feel free to friend the LJ, the more the merrier. I have a pathetic friends list right now.

I'd be interested in knowing about them regardless, but they may be on an occasional link-check list rather than a reader's journal if the crossover stuff is pretty sparse.

There's me, but I generally cross-post my crossovers to [livejournal.com profile] crossoverfic.

There's [livejournal.com profile] b7friday and [livejournal.com profile] b7fic but crossovers aren't that common, though they do turn up every now and then.

Oh, and I nearly forgot! There was recently a Doctor Who "choose your own companion" ficathon, which was a crossover ficathon where the Doctor takes a character from another universe as a companion. I didn't participate myself, since I'm already doing Doctor Who for [livejournal.com profile] crossovers100. (looks through flist trying to find link for that ficathon...) Ah, here it is: http://rheanna27.livejournal.com/55555.html
It was probably a one-off, but it's still worth noting.
