Notes: I wanted to include the links to all the chapters in one post rather than inundate your flists with chapters this month. So here it is. My Remus/Giles fic for the [livejournal.com profile] pervy_werewolf Lusty Month of May Marathon - At least PG-13 rated smut every day. And if you knew me, there's lots of plot, too. All warnings will be in the individual chapter headers.

Hi Lunalelle.

I read your fic with great interest, as I am a fan of both BTVS and Harry Potter, and I liked the Remus Lupin character, and wished he was developed more in Rawlings original works.

I thought the plotline, another Dark Lord rising, murders and fires all centered around people heavily involved in the original fight with Voldermort very interesting, though I was saddened by the extremely-dark place that most of the characters had ended up in. Harry in particular having issues after all he had been through was believable, if, again, quite sad.

I liked the way you brought Giles into the story through his connection to strange occurrences and dark magics.

Now, where you lost me was the sex. Not simply that there was sex, or even really hot sex, because I enjoy that in a well-written story. I think what disturbed me after a while was that 1: most of the sex had some violence in it. If consensual, it was rough sex. And there was plenty that was not consensual. That, too, can be ok in a story, but at some point I found myself hoping for something really loving and caring between Giles and Remus. Remus took a number of beatings, some h/c might have brought out the better qualities in the characters. 2: ALL of the sex was M/M, and 3: Every major character either had, did, or wished to have sex with Remus. This part of the plot struck me as a bit one-dimensional, and ended up being a deterrent from what was a very interesting and creative plot line otherwise.

Still, it was an enjoyable read. Well-written, no grammatical errors, (which make me nuts!) and engrossing enough to keep me coming back to read all 31 chapters.

Congratulations on your nomination to Bodice Ripper Awards. Well done!
