“Don’t touch me, please, just don’t.”
My whole body was repulsed by his touch, still these trying to keep control over my every movement, because every warning about him was coming true one after another.
(‘Are you sure you can trust him, P.? He looks like a married man and a shady politician all rolled into one.’)
I ripped my arms out of his overwhelming hug; one that threated to keep me trapped within his embrace for the rest of my days, as let his double life come spilling out.
“Peyton, please stop this nonsense, darling you knew that I cannot risk my campaign by bringing you out in the open. Divorce coming or not it would ruin me.”
Each step I took was to get further away from him as I could, not wanting his polluted hands to try and reel me back in, afraid that his gift for those beautiful lies of his would rub off on me.
“Divorce coming? Nathan, my god, you said that it was dealt with. Why did you have to tell me so many goddamn lies? I was always open to the truth but you could never dig yourself out of your mountain of lies.”
As I grabbed for the door, knowing that this little part of his house of tucked away just for girls like me, his fist slammed across it preventing my quick escape from this house of never ending lies.
(whenever I want the kick-boxing training to come to life I’m always paralyzed by fear and can’t move an inch)
“You cannot leave me, Peyton, I won’t let you. I love you more than her, more than anyone in this whole goddamn world, so you can’t leave.”
I tried with all my might to see some of that so called “love” in his eyes that were locked on me but the only thing floating around in their was even more lies and greed for something innocent.
“You’re so very wrong, Nathan, I can leave and nothing you say will stop me.”
His arm dropped away, no longer trying to use his touch to keep me trapped here with him, and opened the door knowing that I would never find myself here ever again.
“I hope you love this house of lies you’ve built because it’s all you have left, Nathan.”
