Memories are wonderful things to us all, the things that drive us crazy or calm us down, but in my world which is one hell of a mind trip they can be taken away with the snap of a finger.

In my nightmares I can see those black hands coming toward me threatening to take all that I have away with just a single touch, those memories that are now more special to me then anything else because they have her in them.

Her, my Joey, the one person that knows me better then anyone else (understood with a single look everything about Nathan), can fight better then me, and gave me that wonderful smile of hers the moment my feet lifted off the ground.

('damn now there's something I haven't see')

“Remember that fateful day where you stuck a rife in my face but realized I was just too pretty to shoot?”

“Like it was yesterday, Pete.”

At this period in this dance, arms locked praying that they don't get ripped apart, of ours my hands were on hers as I tried to keep her as close as possible. Because the fear, which started as my loved ones began to drop like flies, was something this life of mine came with.

(being a 'hero' or what the hell I am comes with a price)

But when my worries came spilling out of me, a brush with my old friend death uncorked the dam, she didn't run out the door she didn't even think of it instead that smile of hers came back lovelier then ever before.

“My god, Pete, you really are a freaking hero. But you shouldn't be worrying a single bit because baby, so am I.”
