He snorted out a laugh. But then his shoulders started to shake with real laughter. "I thought Vikings only saw half empty goblets." He met her gaze, and brushed her hair away from her face.

She shook her head, smiling down at him, and joking in return. "No. Sometimes we see half full." More seriously, she added, "But in both cases, we drink them to the dregs. Life... is not halfway. All or nothing, is that not so?"

"All or nothing," he agreed, pulling her into his arms again. "I'll take all." And he did, all night long, finding comfort in her embrace, and passion in her arms.
