paintercrow and I have moved Death in Appalachia over to another journal, strange_weaving where it’s easier to follow. For anyone interested in getting in on the story, here the link & summarary information of the first chapter.
Death in Appalachia Chapter 1: Seeking Refuge

Rating: Mature (NC-17), Warnings for story overall. Swearing (most chapters). Rape and torture chapters have separate warnings. Character deaths (Ballad novels/OCs).
Warning: The story has mature content with graphic descriptions of horror, as well as, sex--both hetero and homosexual.
Pairings: Sam/OMC; Dean/OFC
Summary: Dean's injuries and Sam's developing psychic abilities cause the Winchester brothers to seek refuge in Eastern Tennessee.
Fandoms: This is an alternate universe version of Supernatural as well as a crossover with
Sharyn McCrumb's Ballad Novels.
Author's Note: (paintercrow starts co-authoring later in the story) The story is set during the summer of 2006. All the events in the first season up to the episode "Home" occurred. In this universe, John Winchester died during the pilot episode. Sam and Dean think the Lady in White killed him. Also Sam is one year younger, just turned 22, and has more psychic abilities than on the show.
